New Plans and Upcoming Posts

Its a little after 9 pm and I am sitting in my living room planning out a new business venture. The rest of my family is busy doing what they do best (video games, computers, and of course my youtube guru) . I am the thinker and planner in the group. I'm not saying they don't think or plan, but I am the one who always has something in the works. The latest is the new business venture.

My husband and I essentially work from home, though we do have appointments on a regular basis which means we are still out a good bit of the time. I love what we do and I love the extra time it allows us to spend with each other and our family. I have several things planned to branch off from our current business, but I've recently decided to get off my butt and FINALLY do something I've been talking about for years...Events and Weddings!

As I mentioned already, I am a planner. I am good at planning and I'm definitely detail oriented. I love mapping out something and seeing it come together. I also love setting goals and working to achieve them. Besides that who doesn't love a great party? I am working to get everything started in addition to collaborating with a few other great people. I figured if I was going to do this I might as well have all my bases covered! With that being said in addition to the planning we will also offer wedding officiants, planning, decorating, rentals, photography, makeup artists, setting up, and of course the clean up. I am working to make sure all bases are covered!

I've been talking about doing this for years, but I never seemed to really motivate myself to get started. Since we've basically been working from home for the past six months to a year I thought now would be the perfect time. I don't have to worry about scheduling between jobs since I already have that taken care of. I make my schedule so now is the perfect time.

I came up with "Flair" back in 2010 because I had plans of opeing a boutique. I opted for buying into another existing business so I didn't go full force with the title in that aspect. I did, however, start a jewelry line that was titled "Flair by Brandi" and eventually formed my blog with the same title. Since most people who know me already associate everything with "Flair" I decided to keep it somewhere in the title so "A Touch of Flair : Weddings and Events " is slowly coming to be!

I am working on a website currently, but for now I may just start out by using the blogger platform. I'm excited about getting this up and running and will definitely keep everyone posted on our latest venture.

Stay tuned for some reviews I have planned on some of my latest Urban Decay purchases and don't forget about my newest Erin Condren planner!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Love and hugs as always!!

The Inspiration : A bit of 40's flair

I think we set a date for our "wedding" finally. I have been going back and forth trying to decide. I say "wedding" because we decided not to have a big ordeal. We are just going to have our family and a few friends join us as we say our vows.

We decided that we wanted to have the small ceremony outside, and it will more than likely be by a lake (he proposed at the lake). Since we really didn't want to make a fuss out of anything I decided that I wasn't going to get a long and formal wedding gown, but that I would stick to something more fun!

I love the romantic style of the 1940's! I always have. I have the most beautiful picture of my grandmother from 1946. It is one of my favorite pictures! All of her pictures amaze me! She was a teenager in the 40's and also married my grandfather in the 40's! I could listen to her stories all day long, and have loved hearing them for the past twenty-nine years!
(Of course it looks blurred here)
Without going on and on about family history ( though I could) here are a few inspirational pictures I picked out for our special day. My favorite color (of course) is pink, so that will be my pop of color! I also love the look of the birdcase veil. It has a 40's feel and isn't too formal! I plan on making my own veil, and will show a tutorial soon!
Wedding Idea's

In addition to the veil I am also going to custom make my bouquet (I even thought about making the cake too). Hope you like my inspirational photos! I will keep you updated on the plans for our special day!
