Fall Makeup Look and New Series!

With my crazy schedule I haven't taken the time to post any makeup looks. It has definitely been a long time. I pulled out the camera yesterday and thought I would snap a few pictures while I got ready. Halfway through my camera died, so I switched to my phone.

After rushing through this look I started thinking that it would be fun to do a series on several wearable fall looks! I plan to include daytime and evening looks for the Fall Makeup Series! Here are the step by step photos with details below!

There is no set way I apply my makeup. Some days I will apply foundation first and some days I apply it last. It usually depends. Today I waited because some of the shadows cause a good bit of fallout and I don't like all the touchups. So here is what I did today:

1) I grabbed my Urban Decay eye primer  and 2) applied it to my lids.3) Then I grabbed my Urban Decay book of Shadows and patted "Sin" on my lids. 5) Using the UD Electric Palette I opted for the orange shade called "Burnout" and put it along the crease and outer corner. Then added some lighter shimmery orange with "Freelove". 8) Freelove application. 9) I decided to darken the orange with the two purple shades "Flash" and "Tornado". 10) I kept these more on the outer area and crease. 11) I used my Vice Palette and put 12) "Toxic" all over the lid and crease to add shimmer. Then I used "Rewind" 14) to deepen and 15)started to blend. 16) More deepening with "Derailed" 17) more blending 18) Time to clean up the fallout 19) I used my Avon Glimmerstick liner and then (not shown) went over the liner with "Blackout". 20) Foundation time. 21) I buffed the two together 22) Then grabbed my Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer and 23) put it under my eyes. 24) Time to add shadow to the bottom. These were Derailed and Rewind shadows. 25)lashes curled 26) pulled out the UD Perversion (They sent me a trial before it launched and I loved it so much I have a full size that I haven't opened)27) Upper lashes 28) Lower lashes 29) Avon Glimmersticks brow pencil in Blonde. 30) filling in before I grab my favorite 31) Too Faced Brow Envy then 32) Filling in and 33) using the spooly. 34) This picture looks crazy the way the flash showed up, but this is Too Faced Chocolate Solei bronzer 35) applying and then 36) blush from elf. 37) on the apples . I did highlight but that isn't pictured either lol. 38)Time for setting powder. This is a mix of two powders. 39) Elf matte nude lip with 40)Smashbox gloss on top.

Love and hugs!

"Face" Facts Makeup Series : Part Four - All About The Eyes

ff

Today we will cover the eyes! This is one of my favorite features to play up! Eye makeup can be a great way to change your look! You can easily take a daytime look to a night look with just a touch of liner and some extra shadow. Lets start with liners!

eyeliners

Your basic liners are going to consist of pencils, liquid liners, powder based liners, and gel or cream liners. I love them all! Your most basic is the pencil. This is super easy to use and they start at under $1.00! You definitely can't beat that!

Liners are a great way to open eyes and to create drama! Check out these two looks. You have a basic look and then a more dramatic look.

This is from the Alexander Wang 2013 show.

There is so much you can do with liner and so many different looks you can create! Check out this guide via pinterest!
Different looks with black eyeliner
Next up is shadow! This is definitely one of my favorite beauty products to buy! Your basic shadows will include : powder (compact/pressed), creams, pencil or crayon shadows, and loose pigments.

eyeshadow

Shadows, in my opinion, are one of the easiest ways to change your look! These can be a lot of fun to play with! There are so many options when doing shadow! Check out some of these looks!

shadows

Any shadow type will come in a variety of colors. Colors can be tons of fun, but a rule of thumb is to always start with your basic colors! A quick and easy option for the basics is to start out with a pallet or quad.
shadow

Drugstore finds like  elf  or Rimmel are going to cost much less than department or specialty brands.
You can pick up some for as little as $3.00! Once you have your basic colors then you can splurge on the more "fun" shades!

The last thing on the list today is Mascara! This is a must for me. I have very light colored lashes and wouldn't look totally "put together" without my mascara! Mascara, in general, will help to lengthen, thicken, plump, or curl. It can be found in a variety of shades and in most cases can be purchased in a waterproof formula!

mascara

I have tried so many different mascaras! It takes a few trial and errors to find your perfect match! I prefer mascaras that plump and lengthen the lashes! Your average price is going to be in the range of $6.00 to $10.00, but some will be as little as $3.00 for drugstore/Target type brands.

I hope you are all having a great week so far! Stay posted for part five which will cover the lips!

Your Shadow and Lipstick Guide : What Works

Lips

Makeup is meant to enhance your beauty, not cover it up. When someone looks at you they should see you, not a crazy amount of makeup that hides your features. If you want to play up your eyes, then tone down on the lips. If you want dark vibrant lips, then the eyes should appear softer.

If you have ever questioned your shadow and lip combinations here is a quick guide to help you avoid overdoing it! I know at some point all of us have run into someone caked in makeup. They may have had a deep smokey eye and some dark violet lips. Or maybe it was a Vibrant shadow combination mixed with dark coral lips. That is definitely the wrong color combination!

Don't let your makeup overpower you! Here is a quick guide to help you avoid overdoing it!

Here are some more good shade combinations:

I hope this helps some! Have a fabulous day and let me know what your favorite combinations are!

Smokey eye with a pop of color : Tutorial and Review on Wet N Wild Pallet

I haven't done a fun shadow look in a long time, so I thought I would try one out with the Wet N Wild "Blue Had Me at Hello" Pallet. These was one of those super cheap finds that I wanted to try out! These pallets are under $6.00.

shadow

The Look : Glam Rock- Blue, Teal, Black

Here's a quick photo guide with the directions below. Don't forget to check out my review!

1-2) I started with a primer. This is from Mary Kay. You can even use a dab of foundation to prime your lids. This helps hold the shadow on.
3-4) Dust the lightest color over lids.
5-6) Take the royal blue shade in picture 6 and pat on lid.
7-8) Take the similar shade of blue in picture 7 and sweep over upper lid and crease area.
9-10) Take the teal shade in picture 9 and do inner corner of upper lid and blend towards outer edges.
11-12) Take the sparkle black in picture 11 and put in crease and outer corner of eye.
13-14) Take light teal shade in picture 13 and blend darker shadows on upper lid and brow bone area. You are also going to take the lightest color and highlight under the brow bone continuing to blend.
15) Take the darker shadow and brush under lashes. Take the teal and line the inner corner of the eye.
16) Using black liner line the upper lid and smudge.
17) Line your waterline. This is the inner part of your bottom lashes.
18) Top off with mascara and you're done!

Review :
I was actually impressed with this Wet N Wild pallet! The pigment in the shadow was great. These were very bold colors that went on very easily. These shadows are easy to wear and last throughout the day. Definitely worth the five or six dollars I spent! There are a couple other 8 pan pallets as pictured above, so there is a shade family perfect for everyone.
